Get and stay approved on Avetta®, ISNetworld®, ComplyWorks®, and 27 more, without the back and forth.

We've kept contractors at Approved status across 30+ prequalification platforms since 2001. You bid the work. We keep the doors open.

Prequalification platforms we work on daily

  • Avetta®
  • ISNetworld®
  • ComplyWorks®
  • Veriforce® / BROWZ®
  • ConstructSecure®
  • PEC® Premier

All marks property of their respective owners. CAN is independently owned and not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with any platform listed above.

What we won't charge you for

Things you shouldn't be paying for on a compliance bill.

  • No call center. No rotating account managers.
  • No upsell. No setup fees. No platform middleman markups.
  • No software seat to buy.
  • No retainer minimum to call.

How it works

Three steps. Same three steps every time.

  1. Free 15-min review

We listen, we look at your current scores, and we tell you exactly what's broken and what 'compliant' looks like for your trade and your customers.

  2. We build your program right the first time

Written safety program, RAVS®, PSQ, training matrix, OQ, IIPP. Whichever modules apply. Built once, kept current, never duplicated across platforms.

  3. We keep you approved

Quarterly reviews, document refresh, audit responses, OSHA log support, scorecard remediation. The maintenance you don't have to remember.

vs DIY

The math usually favors outsourcing once you count what it takes to actually keep up.

Most contractors come to us after the office manager who was handling prequal "in their spare time" finally hits the wall. Here is what changes.

Status quo

Doing it internally

Office manager, HSE coordinator, or controller spending 8 to 15 hours a week on prequalification across platforms. Reactive, not proactive. Knowledge ages out fast as platforms update. Failure mode: a scorecard quietly drops the day before an RFP.

Managed

With CAN

2 to 3 hours a week of your time, mostly approving drafts. We track every platform's policy changes the day they publish. Quarterly reviews catch slips before they become contract risk.

Difference

What changes

70 percent of your team's time back. Account managers who keep their context across years, not weeks. You stop getting blindsided by platform changes you didn't see coming.

Who you'll be working with

No call center. No rotating account managers. Senior practitioners on every call.

Justin Dutmers founded Contractor Approval Network in 2001 after years inside the contractor compliance world. Stacey Williams runs day-to-day operations: documentation, platform maintenance, and audit response across our client accounts.

Surge capacity: for larger engagements we bring in a small bench of vetted EHS and ISO consultants. They work to our standard, on our paper, and you always know who is doing what.

FAQ

Real questions contractors ask before booking.

If yours isn't here, ask on the call. We'd rather answer it once for you than let it sit on a generic FAQ page.

  • How fast can you get me to 'Approved' on Avetta®?

Depends on what your platform is asking for and how quickly you can pull a couple of pieces of evidence (insurance certs, OSHA logs, written program). Most clients move from sign-up to a passing scorecard in 2 to 6 weeks. Rush jobs in under 14 days are common when a contract is on the line.
  • What does ongoing maintenance cost?

$3,500 per platform per year, flat. Same scope per platform regardless of which one. Other services (manuals, ISO, training, DOT) are quoted separately. Full breakdown on the pricing page.
  • Do you handle California IIPP for out-of-state companies with CA jobsites?

Yes. That is a common case. California's IIPP requirements (8 CCR §3203, with construction additions in §1509) are stricter and more specific than most other state programs. Out-of-state safety manuals routinely fail Cal/OSHA inspection because they don't have the California-specific elements documented in writing. We will write or amend your IIPP so it survives a Cal/OSHA inspection on a CA jobsite.
  • What if my OSHA score is bad? Can you still help?

Yes. Bad OSHA history is exactly when you most need a real prequalification partner. We'll write the corrective-action narratives platforms need to see, document your safety improvements, and (where applicable) request manual review from the platform's compliance team.
  • How do I switch from a competitor mid-cycle?

We do this routinely. Most transitions take 1 to 2 weeks. We pull your current platform documents, compare them to what's actually required, and rebuild any gaps. Most contractors don't lose any platform standing in the transition.
  • Are you a CAN employee or do I work directly with Justin?

You work directly with Justin and Stacey. Justin owns strategy and platform decisions; Stacey runs the documentation work. No call center. No rotating account managers. Same two senior practitioners across the life of the engagement.
  • What's the smallest contractor you'll work with?

We've worked with contractors as small as a 4-person specialty crew and as large as multi-state operators. The economics work below 10 employees if you have at least one prequalification platform requirement; below that, we'll usually point you to the platform's free guides and check back when you're ready.
  • Can you handle the same platform across multiple owners?

Yes. The same contractor often has different scorecards on the same platform depending on which owner you're working for: Shell vs Chevron on ISN®, multiple operators on ConstructSecure®, and so on. We track per-owner so nothing falls below threshold quietly. This is one of the most common reasons contractors lose standing without realizing it.
  • Do you write our safety manual, or do we?

We write it. You review and sign off. Custom to your trades, your sites, and your customers' specific requirements. Most contractors come to us with a 2014 Word doc; we use that as the starting point, not a blank template. Delivered as both a three-ring binder and a branded electronic version on a flash drive.
  • What if I just need help on one platform, not all of them?

That is how most clients start. No retainer minimum, no bundle requirement. The economics work platform by platform. Plenty of contractors expand once they see how it works on their first account.
